Come celebrate Juneteenth with us!  June 19th is Juneteenth America’s 2nd Independence Day, and the celebration of the end of slavery in America.  Juneteenth is one of the oldest emancipation celebrations in the U.S.

In addition to a selection of mainstream feature films, the Juneteenth Atlanta Film Showcase will include two days of documentaries and short and feature films by local and regional independent filmmakers that celebrate the diversity, strength and survival of African Americans.  Film screenings are FREE to the public, and all are welcome!

The Atlanta Juneteenth celebration will be hosted by the APEX Museum and the Auburn Avenue Research Library on African American Culture and History.  Stop by between June 19th and 21st to sign a petition to help make Juneteenth a nationally observed holiday!  For more information about the National Juneteenth Holiday Campaign, or to sign the petition online, visit www.juneteenth.us.
